Waxing is one of the best hair removal options, and there are lots of things you can do to make it less painful.
When it comes to hair removal options, nothing beats waxing. In a previous blog, we went over several reasons why waxing trumps shaving, but there is one downside to waxing — it hurts! Don’t get us wrong, waxing isn’t unbearably painful, but it can certainly be uncomfortable. Luckily, Ona Ultimate Skincare is here to help. The following is a list from our waxing specialists in Nashville of a few things you can do to make waxing less painful:
#1. Plan it around your cycle.
Whatever you do, never schedule a waxing appointment right before your period. During the five days leading up to your period, you are much more sensitive, and not just down there, everywhere! The best time during your cycle to wax is right after your period has ended because your pain tolerance is at its highest.
#2. Avoid caffeine before your appointment.
Caffeine contains stimulants that can actually make your skin even more sensitive. If you can’t go long without your morning cup of Joe, schedule your appointment first thing in the morning; just try to avoid drinking it before your appointment.
#3. Take an over-the-counter painkiller.
You can help to head off the pain by taking an over-the-counter painkiller before your appointment.
These are just a few of the many steps you can take to reduce the pain from waxing. Would you like to learn more tips for easing the pain of waxing? If so, please stay tuned for our next blog.
